TNS CBO runs a safehouse that shelters a revolving 20 urban documented refugees and Asylum seekers in Nairobi. The beneficiaries are all part of the resettlement process and live together as peers.
TNS provides the beneficiaries at the shelter with food, water, support to access medical assistance and livelihood trainings in different fields to make sure when they need to leave the safe house, they have ways to sustain themselves, allowing for a new group of peers to utilise the safe house. We offer computer, internet literacy and skills training to the beneficiaries at the shelter as they wait for their cases to be resolved by the respective organizations. The safehouse is Wi-Fi enabled to keep them abreast with news and following up of individual cases and responses.

TNS CBO recognises that human health is fundamental for optimum performance and utilisation of resources holistically. Through support from different donors, we have programs targeting the following:
Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), HIV/AIDS, STI’s programs
TNS CBO has programs that raise awareness on SRHR to the refugee community. Our
Programs conduct outreaches for Sex worker hotspots and reach them with information on HIV, Free testing, supply of condoms and lubricants. We also do referrals for our members to health facilities for access to PEP and PrEP and safe spaces free from stigma and discrimination.
Mental Health Support programs
We noticed that some of our members were being treated for anxiety and mental health ailments and did a quick intervention for the same. We run mental health support groups where peers spoke openly in safe spaces and encouraged each other. We have a professional counsellor on call that responds to critical mental health challenges.

TNS is at the forefront to champion for human rights. We have programs that sensitize our community members on their human rights, how to uphold human rights and dignity. Coming from a marginalized group due to Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity Expression (SOGIE) and refugee status we are constantly victims of stigma and discrimination. We work effortlessly to put to an end these forms of human rights violations. TNS CBO targets community gatekeepers and stakeholders to raise awareness on human rights violations. Our team members have had opportunities to go through trainings and mentorships on human rights that have propelled them to be active Human Rights Defenders (HRDs). Tags:

TNS CBO runs a sensitization program that focuses on the Asylum seeking/ refugee
resettlement process thanks to our membership that largely comprise of a refugee community. TNS has noted an increase in anxiety among its membership more so when Kenya enforced the encamping directive for refugees with a looming threat of camp closure.
This program debunks the myths surrounding the process and attempts to address the challenges in the process mainly through dialogue with stakeholders and the refugee community. This program provides TNS with the liaison role between Refugee Affairs Secretariat, UNHCR, HIAS and the refugee community.
